I can't wait to share what we will be doing the next two weeks! I can't let the cat out of the bag yet, though!
I promise- I WILL HAVE PICTURES SOON! I have about 4 kiddos that don't have permission for me to use their pictures. And guess what- I forget my list every single day! I am so frustrated with myself!
In the mean time, we have been having fun in Fit for Motion. I will share those pictures, since they are already blurry!
First off, they were playing a dribbling game. If someone knocked their ball away from them, they had to do 10 jumping jacks. A few of them did more jumping jacks than dribbles, I think!
We also learned about CPR on Valentine's Day. Here is a shot of them practicing!
We are currently studying:
-Weather
-Verbs
-Regrouping
Progress Reports go home this week on Thursday.
Also, I will be out the entire week of February 25 for a workshop. Please email me any concerns- I will have my laptop with me. I will check in a few times after school during the week, but I am unsure of which days until I get my work schedule for my PT job. So e-mail will be best!

Synonyms, Antonyms, and Other Stuff
Welcome again to our class blog! No pictures today (sorry), because I did not receive releases from everyone. I haven't quite gotten to organizing who I will have to blur. I will get there- we made some super cute snow men on our first day together and I want to share!
Anyway, lately we have been working on synonyms and antonyms. If your child hasn't mentioned this to you, try asking them what there are. They should be able to give you several examples! Most of the class has mastered synonyms. Well, except for the pronunciation of 'synonym'! It still comes out an awful like 'cinnamon' :) Antonyms have proven to be a little trickier. We get the basics (up/down, hot/cold, etc...), but we still get confused when things are not antonyms. For example, most of the class will tell me that red and blue are antonyms because they are different. They are missing the OPPOSITE portion. So we are working on it still.
Oh- we are now "Bucket Fillers"! Please ask your child what a bucket filler is! Hopefully they filled your bucket today!
I have updated my website and you will find all the important links on there. My Spelling City page is up and running as well! I know that you used Engrade, and I will get to that ASAP. (I used to use it before 3-5 report cards went through NCWISE, and I am excited to go back to it! Their program is so much easier! Yay!)
I hope this transition has went smoothly for you and your child. Unfortunately, the switch happened right at the beginning of our Middle of the Year benchmarking window, so the routine is a bit off. (Hence the extra worksheets that are probably coming home! Plus the ActivBoard is still broken- big bummer!!!) I have also been giving them a ton of morning work to help me assess exactly where they are and what weaknesses I need to target. Please, please, please feel free to email me with any questions you have.
Coming up: Weather!!!

(Side note about the teacher: I like punctuation. Can you tell? Especially exclamation points!!!!!!!)
